Our values and goals

The founders and owners of DaiKai (Anita Kavlie, Ph.D. and Finn Dalheim, Siviling.) wanted to create a City Retreat aimed at helping our customers relax, stay well and in particular prevent stress-related illnesses. Our focus is on prevention, not treatment of already existing injuries or illnesses. We aim to be an evidence based, reliable, family friendly and environmentally and socially responsible company.

Our first retreat in Arbins gate 11 in Vika in Oslo opened in March 2006 and the second retreat in Rostockgata 68 in Bjørvika in February 2022. Today we have about 30 full time therapists. DaiKai therapists have a solid massage education, the majority have a Bachelor degree in Physical Therapy or in Traditional Chinese Medicine with additional training in massage, and many years of experience.

Daikai Sponsorship Program

DaiKai has a policy of sponsoring associations and non-profit organizations with gift-vouchers as prizes.

If your association has an event which you would like DaiKai to sponsor with a gift voucher, please send us a description of the event by email to reception@daikai.no

Our gift vouchers for 1 hour (60 minutes) cost NOK 1450 and can be used for selecting any 60 minutes treatment (with one therapist) from our menu. We also have gift vouchers for 90, 120 minutes and customized amounts.

Daikai "Everyday Hero of the Month" Program

Do you know about someone who deserves a special encouragement in form of a gift voucher from DaiKai? Someone who has quietly done a lot for others, without much recognition or any other reward for helping humans in need? Daikai would be more than happy to contribute with one of the gift vouchers for such heroes.

Please send us an email to reception@daikai.no with your nomination and a precise explanation for your choice. Each month, we will anonymously select the person who we think deserves it most and contact her or him directly to reward with our gift voucher.

Special Occasion Celebrations with Daikai

Birthdays, weddings, engagements, jubilees or some other special reason for celebration? Our exclusive, spacious suites for 2 persons, the Silk suite or the Pearl suite with elegant theme designs, can contribute to an unforgettable experience. Our receptionists can help you select just the right combination of massages from our menu of Chinese Tui Na, Japanese Shiatsu, classical (Swedish style) aroma oil massage, Chinese style aroma oil massage, facial massage, head-neck-shoulder massage and Chinese foot massage (reflexology).

A group of friends or colleagues or any combination of up to 12 persons can also sit together and experience a joint, social massage experience simultaneously in our foot massage area.

A party of 20 persons can receive various types of massages simultaneously in a number of rooms, or a party of up to 40 persons can receive treatments in two consecutive sessions, where one group can relax with tea, fruit and quiet conversation while the other group in turn receive their massages.
